Game Days, Growth, and Gratitude

What an honor it's been to play such a small part in Lexington Sporting Club's inaugural and formative years. Little did I know the power of networking on LinkedIn would give me this opportunity.

For the past year and a half, I've been lucky enough to witness the Club's tremendous growth first-hand as a part-time staff member; I'm forever grateful for Vince Gabbert for taking a chance on me and making this possible.

As the 2024 season comes to a close, I'm so proud of how Lexington Sporting Club has grown and what we've accomplished including:

Launching the Super League 🩷

Having a professional women's soccer team to cheer for in my hometown is something I wasn't sure would happen as a child. Seeing fans bring the same energy and enthusiasm for women's soccer is incredible!

Reinventing the Game Day Fan Experience 📣

Working closely with David Simms this year to reinvent the game day fan experience was so much fun!

David entrusted me with so much, like selecting our Fan of the Match at every game, and I'm very grateful he trusted me to work so closely with our fans.

With our own stadium, we finally have a chance to make the entire space our own and I'm happy to see how David and the rest of the staff continue to cater to our fans.

Opening Our Own State-of-the-Art Venue 🏟️

From Day One, fans showed up and showed out to support the men's inaugural season at Toyota Stadium at Georgetown College. Fans brought the same energy and passion when we opened our brand new 7,500-seat stadium a few months ago.

A lot of people played a crucial role in making the most of our experience before we had a stadium of our own to truly call our home. I'm amazed by Gretchen Mills, who juggled so many roles and wore so many hats. Her hard work and dedication made the first year and a half without our own stadium possible.

I'm very grateful that I got to play a small roll in the grand opening of Lexington Sporting Club's beautiful stadium; and I appreciate Emily A. Fields, M.S. and Micheline Schott for believing in me and entrusting in me to help on such an important day.
